Our Shepherd's Huts are well suited to those who enjoy the simpler things in life and are looking to escape to the countryside and embrace the great outdoors. The huts are filled with rustic charm and include all the mod cons to ensure you have an enjoyable and relaxing stay. The huts are within close proximity to the coast so they are ideally placed to explore both coast and country.

Each hut is larch-clad, super-insulated and heated with tubular heaters with real flame effect. Foxglove is suitable for people with mobility impairment.

Northumberland is packed full of family-friendly cycling routes and tracks, and being amongst a network of quiet roads, with lighter traffic compared to other parts of the country, is an ideal location for cycle touring. Our hut are a great base to explore bike routes from North Northumberland over the border into Scotland, or across the county into Kielder Water & Forest Park and the Cheviots. Our nearby routes will take you to places cars can't get you - taking in picturesque and breath-taking views along the way! From the coastal plain up to the hills you have a plethora of options to enjoy. Popular cycling trails include Hadrian's Cycleway, The Coast & Castles, Pennine Cycleway, and the UK's most popular route, the Coast to Coast (C2C).

Northumberland is a brilliant place for families. Our huts provide a great base from which to create magical memories and great times with your loved ones in the country's most northerly county. There's a huge choice of day trips, with Holy Island, Bamburgh and the Farne Islands just a short drive away from South Berrington. Head inland, and explore the beautiful Cheviot hills or head out to the county's long and beautiful beaches. The location of our Shepherd's Huts in North Northumberland gives you a truly special place for stargazing, unrivalled in the whole of Europe. Northumberland International Dark Sky Park boasts 572 square miles and is Europe’s largest area of protected night sky. The International Dark Sky Association have declared it the best place in England for people to enjoy the stars - thanks to virtually zero light pollution in this part of the world. With the skies so dark here, the Milky Way can be seen as a glow - something that you cannot see in built up areas. Meteor showers and the Northern Lights are also possible to see from the huts themselves on a clear night at the right time of year!
